Right, you are absolutely correct. I had a 1989 Turbo ll and it was on low boost, 10 pounds, and I had carbon apex seals so they would handle the above stock boost. It still broke every now and then, and it only had 210,000 miles on it.

In terms of power output they are superior to a four-stroke engine as they deliver power like a two stroke.

The major disadvantage of the rotary engine though is that it has a unique set of mechanical problems.

Irrespective I would love a rotary-powered RX-7!
