I would call it a slide / semi drift. Same can be done with a go cart.
A proper drift? No really.

But with normal tires it would drift in a proper way, so the car is capable.
Would have been nice to see the difference with normal road tires for once...

@mrdoominik My comment was sarcastic. You need grippy tyres to drift properly. To have any speed going sideways you need rear end grip. Hence why pretty much every D1gp, FD, BDC, EDC drift car runs as wide and as good as tyres as possible.
Crap tyres and high pressures are used when learning to drift and getting used to transitions, once you've got the basics down you need proper rear end grip.

At the 1:22 mark, the quick release for the harness is above his beer gut and the waist belts are on his ribs ... doh!
I guess the sub strap was ignored or absent?
The other rookie mistake is to leave the passenger belts loose -- they should be zip-tied so they don't. A one cent zip-tie saves the seat and the belt webbing.

So good tyres and a short wheel base is bad for drifting? So how come MX5s are so popular?
How come serious drifters use the best tyres they can?
